It is with sadness that I announce the passing of one of the Club’s Vice Presidents Graham Dunn.
Many newer members will not have had the pleasure of meeting or working with Graham who has not been too active within the Club of recent years
With no great history of competing he took pleasure in organizing, supporting and marshalling on Club events so that others could enjoy them..
He joined the Club in November 1964 and has been a member since that date, just under 60 years.
He was elected to the Committee in 1973, during this time he held many important positions including a number of years as Chairman.
On his retirement from the Committee he was elected as a Club Vice President and with a three year term as President it was a post he held to his passing.
The only AGM he missed was this year.
Amongst the highlights of his time are being Chief Marshal on the 1977 Boanerges Road Rally and being part of the 1980 committee that put the club back on track after a few years of relative inactivity
This revival started with the Carfax Stage Rally of 1981. Graham was part of that turn-around and was involved with the following 32 Carfax Rallies.
As well as supporting all the other Club events for many years he also organized and ran numerous Navigational Rallies and Scatters.
He was a very humble and private man, a stalwart of the Club who was immensely proud of the honour of representing the Club as a Trustee and will be missed by all who knew him.
Our thoughts are with his wife and family at this time.
