Carfax Stage Rally 2011
We hope you enjoyed this years Oxford MC
Carfax Stage Rally at RAF Benson at the weekend. I think as a first
attempt
we did alright and it was very pleasing to get lots of positive
feedback
during the day. It goes without saying that we are very grateful
to our sponsors BGMsport and Mark Donaldson Ltd for their support
throughout.
The only issue we had was the entry
process
in the morning, although we got all competitors and over 140 marshals
through
in just over 2 hours, we have learnt quite a bit and will improve this
in the future.
A massive thanks to all the marshal's and
Cheltenham MC for
manning the faultless timing all day.
The driving standards throughout the day
were impeccable and on the clear down you would have hardly noticed
that
we had been there. The chicanes were rarely touched and you deserve a
big
pat on the back for the high standards, well done.
Congratulations to Simon Mauger and
Melanie
Holmes are their victory. After a slow start they took the lead
on
stage 4 overhauling a fast starting Rob Dennis and Lee Harding who took
second overall. Driver of the day Kevin Tappin co-driven by
Charles
Tappin scored third overall in there very quick 1600 Escort.
