Thank you to all competitors and marshals for supporting the event.
The anticipated wet weather didn’t appear and the sunshine made for a very pleasant relaxed day.
Bob Milligan in the Mini had a good class A win and with a happy passenger, the very newly appointed Motorsport UK Safeguarding & Compliance Officer, who wanted to see what a grass roots motorsport event was all about.
Between Bob & Haydn demonstration drives he went away with the intention of buying a car and entering events next year so a big thank you to both.
Chris Kent continues to improve with a good 2nd in Class
The Class B win went to David and Toni Fooks fortunately recovered from their Covid to take part, Vic Craven and Haydn taking 2nd & 3rd places, fortunately for Haydn – if that is the right word – the engine mount decided to break after the event.
Also in Class B it was great to see the new Mrs Marks back behind the wheel.
A lonely Richard Yapp took Class C honours.
Class C had the closest competition with just 2.4 secs separating the top 3.
Eddie Martin took the win and top Oxford MC driver.
Just 1.6sec behind was Liam Rollins in 2nd place followed by Steve Conner in 3rd just 0.6secs down.
In Class E Neil Costen drove the Caterham to 1st place, later admitting he was not as fast as he thought he was.
In the PCA another lonely driver Kornel Osiak took the Class win after the other entries pulled out.
Finally, the FTD award went to Jamie Yapp after an epic battle between himself and Eddie Martin.
On Test A Eddie took a 2 sec lead, Jamie lost another 0.3sec on Test B but pulled this amount back on Test C.
All down to Test D where Jamie has the drive of the day to beat Eddie by 2.2 seconds and took the win by the narrowest of margins, just 0.2 seconds.
Amongst a good turnout of marshal Colin Minchin did a sterling job as Clerk of the Couse, supported by John Blackwell as Event Secretary and Shirley Blackwell as Entries Secretary.
Harvey Warner kept the marshalling competitors in order,
Dick Hall for even attending after his fall at home to be our Scrutineer, Club Steward and marshal,
Adrian and Phil for their timekeeping,
Derek Stewart and Alan Armstrong for marshalling
Haydn Marks and Ian Kent for helping set up and casting expert eyes over the tests.
Jamie Hyde for helping set up and marshalling. It was very good to see you again.
Peter Clarke plus Kim, Joe Jake Patrick and Cameron who were involved in everything including loading the equipment, setting up the venue, assisting with the scrutineering, timekeeping, marshalling and then stripping down the venue and taking it back to the garages.
A special thank you to all the boys especially Jake who did a very enthusiastic competent job as assistant scrutineer.
