Oxford Motor Club is affiliated to the Motor Sports Asscociation and is recognised for the promotion of motor sport competitions. We are also members of the following Regional Associations and Group of Motor Clubs.
This enables Oxford Motor Club members to compete in events organised by other motor clubs within these regional associations and gives us a voice (in rule changing) at regional and national level. |

The MSA is recognised as the governing body of motorsport in Great Britain by the world governing body, the Paris based Fedaration Internationale de l'Automobile or FIA. As the governing body the RACMSA is responsible for the administration and control of the motor sport rules in the United Kingdom.
Oxford Motor Club members enjoy a full social calendar - quizzes, talks, videos, Scalextric racing (!), dinners ...
We run the Carfax Stage Rally, the Bullnose Road Rally.
We marshal on a wide range of motor sport events including the Rally of Great Britain.
Oxford Motor Club MSA Safety and Medical Frequency radios mean that Club members go out frequently and provide safety radio cover on many stage rallies throughout the year. These radios are available on a free loan basis, and training is given to those wishing to adopt these important skills.
Oxford Motor Club owns a noise meter and three Club members are MSA licensed Sound Test Officials. They are active at events in the south of England.

12-car rallies are 60 mile road rallies for up to 12 pairs of club members. They are run to the MSA rules and are an ideal training ground for those planning to progress to road rallies (or indeed to master the concepts of timing that is essential in stage rallying).
We pioneered a beginners class where the navigational handouts take the form of marked maps newcomers to the lanes sometimes have enough of a problem getting used to finding the slots without having to sort out the navigational clues first.
Road RalliesTypically 100 to 150 miles of all-night sport for an entry fee of only £40 or so. Events in this area are navigational road rallies and do not tend to used many unsurfaced roads so are eminently suitable for standard cars. Oxford Motor Club organises and runs its own Bullnose Road Rally in September of each year. |

Stage RalliesThe most popular form of motorsport in Britain, perhaps because it involves ordinary looking cars. Two people working together, a driver and a co-driver with the cars running at one minute intervals competing against the clock rather than against each other. The events are held on private property such as Forestry Commission land or dissused airfields. There are many types of event and many levels of competition but you will need a specially prepared car to take part. Oxford Motor Club organises and runs its own Carfax Stage Rally in December of each year. |

AutotestsManoeuvering tests around cones and pylons. We occassionally run this type of event and through our membership of the Cotswold Motor Sport Group we can provide information and access to more events for those who would like to give it a try. Read about Fifth Gear's experience of the 2006 OMC Summer Autotest. |

How far up a muddy hill can you go? Our relatively flat local area precludes our organizing these events! However, the Cotswold Motor Sport Group has a strong PCT championship open to all members of Oxford Motor Club.
SprintsA speed trial against the clock on race tracks and disused airfields. Classes for anything from standard road cars to full blown race cars. We don't organise these, but do have information on local events and some members will be out either competing or marshalling. |

Rallies by Mail Order! If you fancy the idea of pitting your mind against others in a Navigational Exercise then Table Tops are for you. All the skills that are required by a Road Rally navigator, and some more are, used to crack the clues and plot the route.
Events with no fixed route - work out from the clues given where the locations to visit are. Choose which points you can visit within the time available and provide proof of visiting (e.g. by noting a piece of information from a signpost). See competitors in action on the National Motorsport Week website.
